Antipode

Antipode is my word of the day for both yesterday and today. So of course I had to figure out the antipode of where I live. The answer is, a spot in the Southern Ocean. Here's a screenshot from Google Earth (the red dot marks the spot):

I will probably never go there.
Does this relate to knitting, you ask? My answer is, yes it does because it came up in conversation at the knitting circle last night!

Aha! It *is* somewhere in the Pacific!

I feel so cool - our knit group and its discussions were mentioned in two blogs!!

Check out Lisa's blog knitnzu...

Thanks for making your comments open to non-bloggers - I am having fun living vicariously!

Hey Sue, thanks for answering my question last night of what is our antipode!!! Carrie must be on a comment roll! Do you know dictionary.com? Yesterday their word was pellucid (which I know from botany) today is moribund (which I also know). I want WORDS dammit! Words I haven't heard before! You have been busy! I think the turtle without its sweater is pretty hilarious.
